In 2016, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of our parish. When we look at 75 years of history and see all that we have here in our parish today, it is only because of the good stewardship of those who have gone before us. Their generous sharing of their time, talent, and treasure in response to God’s goodness to them has helped our parish to grow and thrive for 75 years. Our generous stewardship today will carry on the legacy that we have inherited and help our parish to continue to grow and thrive in the future.
Stewardship asks us to recognize that everything in our lives is a gift from God. When we recognize that all God has given us, we then generously give back in gratitude from all we have received. Stewardship asks us to show our gratitude by generously sharing our time, talent, and treasure.
Please give some time and thought, and especially some prayer, to the ways in which God may be asking you to give back generously. We especially encourage you to consider a stewardship commitment of time and/or talent this year. God may be calling you to do something different than you have in the past. God may be calling you to do more or less than you have done previously. God is not outdone in generosity. When we respond generously to God’s call we will be greatly blessed in return.
Thanks to all of you who have made a Stewardship Commitment in the past. We hope we can count on you again this year. If you have not made a Stewardship Commitment before, please consider doing so this year. Our upcoming 75th anniversary year is a tribute to the good stewardship of those who have preceded us. Our generous stewardship today will continue what they began and help our parish move forward for many more years to come.
In Christ,
Fr. Jim Hyland
