Weddings
Congratulations!
Your decision to marry may well be the most important of your life. Marriage or Holy Matrimony, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.
A couple wishing to marry should contact their parish priest or deacon no later than six months prior to the anticipated date of the wedding, earlier if possible. The purpose of this period of time is to involve the couple actively in a process through which they appreciate their readiness to marry and the nature of the sacrament for themselves and for the Church. In Scripture, God greatly blesses such relationships. Through the assistance of the parish priests, and the Pre-Cana program, Most Holy Redeemer hopes to provide you with the means to make this celebration of your marriage a lifelong event.
The parish and staff are here to assist you in any way possible. Please feel free to contact us at any time for assistance. May the Lord bless you as you begin this most wonderful time.
Planning the Ceremony
Liturgical Celebration
The preparation of the liturgy for your wedding is usually aided by the parish priest / deacon and / or the celebrant of your wedding.
Music
Perhaps one of the most memorable parts of the wedding ceremony is the music. Because of the sacredness of the event, all music chosen for your wedding must be processed through our music director, Linda Maffiola 847.302.6527 or [email protected]. Please see the list of suggested music selections.
Some Thoughts For The Future
Marriage is the choice that you are making as you continue your baptismal journey of faith. We encourage you to share the joy of your marriage with the Christian Community by registering in the parish of residence. We also encourage you to become active members of your parish. People who donate even a small amount of time each year, find their relationship with the church strengthens.
